Review of “This Won’t End Well”

Author Camille Noe Pagan

From the first page, I fell in love with Annie, the main character in This Won’t End Well, and rooted for her success and happiness. Neither are assured: her fiance took off for France without her. She’s not only been fired from her job, but due to a nasty non-compete, can’t even work in her chosen profession for two years. No wonder she decides to retreat and avoid new relationships.

The writing is sharp and sassy; the characters heartfelt and relatable. Pagan is a master at delving into the push and pull of her characters’ emotions and at exploring multiple relationships—friends, lovers, families—simultaneously. The plot twist toward the end was a bonus. Usually, I see them coming, but not this time. An added benefit: the fun cover. One of my favorites!
